Jeffrey Zudeck, CFO for investment banking firm Fundamental Holdings Ltd., has joined New York-based Marcum (FY13 net revenue of $350.2 million) as PIC of its Philadelphia regional offices. He will replace David Glusman, who has managed the firm’s Philadelphia area operations since 2009.
Zudeck will be responsible for the firm’s tax, audit and advisory services and work on growing the firm’s Philadelphia business. Glusman will remain a partner at the firm.
Zudeck served less than two years as CFO at Fundamental. Prior to that, he spent 23 years at New York-based Friedman LLP, where he rose to executive partner and PIC of the SEC and transaction services group and the firm’s New Jersey offices.
While at Friedman, he developed a friendship with competitor Marcum MP Jeffrey Weiner. Glusman said he and Weiner had been talking for the past few years about finding his successor as Philadelphia office head.
“We wanted it to be the right time, method and person,” says Glusman. “If we did not find the right person, we would not be doing this right now.”
Zudeck said he will be focused on strategic mergers and acquisitions, new business development and identifying future leaders of the office. He said he will be relocating to the Philadelphia area.
