Marcum Foundation Raises More than $242,000 in First Year of National Operation
The Marcum Foundation, the charitable giving arm of Marcum LLP, raised a total of $242,841.95 for charity between June 1, 2015, and May 31, 2016. It was the Foundation’s first full year of operation as a national organization.
The Foundation is funded by Marcum partners and employees who contribute through a variety of channels, including a voluntary Planned Giving program that supports approximately 30 charities in the six Marcum regions. Marcum Jeans Days, during which participants contribute $5 for the “privilege” of dressing down for work, are another popular fundraiser, supporting local charities nominated by employees in each office. Additional Foundation activities include local fundraising events, collection drives and numerous volunteer initiatives, including the annual Marcum Day of Service, when all Marcum offices are closed in order to facilitate Firm-wide volunteering the day before Thanksgiving.
Shaun Blogg, chair of the Marcum Foundation and partner-in-charge of the Firm’s West Palm Beach, FL, office, said, “I am immensely gratified by the response of the entire Marcum organization to this Firm-wide effort to link our many local charitable activities together, to launch a Marcum Planned Giving Program, and to start a new Marcum Day of Service tradition. It has been a great first year, and the regional Foundation Boards and I want to thank everyone who has participated by contributing, volunteering or both.”
