Marcum LLP and Connecticut Technology Council Announce Marcum Tech Top 40 Winners
Datto, Inc. LLC Named Connecticut’s Fastest Growing Technology Company
Hartford, CT – Marcum LLP, one of the nation’s leading accounting and advisory firms, and The Connecticut Technology Council tonight announced the winners of the 2013 Marcum Tech Top 40, an annual awards program recognizing the 40 fastest growing technology companies in Connecticut, based on revenue growth over the most recent four-year period. Winners include technology innovators in six industry categories. Results were announced at a gala reception at the Oakdale Theater in Wallingford.
The overall winner of this year’s Marcum Tech Top 40 is Norwalk, CT-based Datto Incorporated, which achieved revenue growth of 33,407 percent from 2009 – 2012. Datto, Inc. is an award-winning vendor of backup, disaster recovery (BDR) and Intelligent Business Continuity (IBC) solutions, providing technology and support to its 5,000+ channel partners throughout North America and Europe.
At the category level, this year’s winners include the following companies:

About the Winners
APS Technology, in the Advanced Manufacturing category, has been steadily expanding over the last few years adding space and jobs at its Wallingford facility. Its instrumentation is used by the oilfield industry.
Proton Onsite, another Wallingford company, captured the top prize in the Energy/Environmental Technologies category. The company is a global leader in hydrogen energy and innovative gas solutions.
Guilford CT is home to the Software category winner, Clarity Software Solutions, Inc. The company assists its clients with optimizing customer relationships by enhancing flexibility and control over their document management and communications delivery.
iSend, LLC, Middlebury CT, won in the New Media/Internet/Telecom technology category. The company, last year’s overall winner, impressed again this year with growth of 3,145%. Its international electronic payment service provides financial options for people who support family members in other countries.
Alexion Pharmaceuticals of Cheshire won in the Life Sciences category. The company, which will move to New Haven in the next two years, produces the drug Soliris®, a treatment for patients with paroxysmal nocturnal hemogolbinuria, a rare blood disease.
About the Marcum Tech Top 40
Companies considered for the Marcum Tech Top 40 are required to have at least $50,000 in revenue in the first year and $3 million in revenue in the fourth year of the nomination period. The list is made up primarily of privately held companies, and also includes 14 public companies.
