Marcum LLP Names Michael Brooder Partner-In-Charge of Hartford Office

Hartford, Connecticut – Michael K. Brooder, CPA and CCIFP, has been named partner-in-charge of Marcum LLP’s Hartford, Connecticut office. As an integral part of the firm’s leadership team, Brooder will be responsible for all operations of the Hartford office including business development, administration and production.

While taking on this new challenge, Brooder will continue his practice development activities in the firm’s Assurance Services division. He joined the firm in 1999 and has more than 15 years experience conducting, reviewing and analyzing financial data for publicly-traded and privately-held companies in various industries.

As a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional, Brooder has a particular niche for working with clients in the construction industry and is very active with related organizations. He is a member of the Association of General Contractors, the Connecticut Construction Industry Association, the Construction Financial Management Association and the Construction Institute. Brooder’s professional memberships also include the American Society of Certified Public Accountants and The Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants where he served as Chair of its Real Estate and Construction Committee.

Brooder is well-known for his philanthropic affiliations. He is very involved with community organizations volunteering his time and serving on committees for not-for-profit organizations including the Town of Wallingford Board of Education, Wallingford Country Club, SARAH Foundation, Walter Camp Foundation, Links to College Charitable Foundation and Boy Scouts of America. The New Haven Business Times honored Brooder with its Professional Achievement and Community Involvement Award.

Brooder received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Washington & Jefferson College.
