Marcum LLP Awarded Associate of the Year by Associated Builders & Contractors of Connecticut; Joseph Natarelli Named to CT ABC Board of Directors
New York City, NY – Marcum LLP, a top national accounting and advisory firm, was awarded Associate of the Year by Associated Builders & Contractors of Connecticut. In addition, Joseph Natarelli, national leader of Marcum’s Construction Industry group and partner-in-charge of the Firm’s New Haven office, was sworn in as a member of the CT ABC Board of Directors.
Marcum’s Construction Industry group provides strategic accounting, audit, and consulting and taxation services to construction clients ranging from start-ups to multi-billion-dollar enterprises. The group publishes the quarterly Marcum Commercial Construction Index, an authoritative analysis of trends in the nonresidential construction sector, and the annual Marcum JOLTS Analysis, a proprietary report on construction employment trends.
As the Construction Industry group’s national leader, Mr. Natarelli provides expertise on job performance and enhancing profitability, as well as expert testimony in claims arbitration and litigation. He also oversees all Firm services to construction clients in more than 25 states. In addition to the Associated Builders & Contractors, Mr. Natarelli is active in numerous other professional construction organizations, including the Construction Industry Council of Westchester and Hudson Valley, the National Association of Surety Bond Producers and the Associated General Contractors of Connecticut, for which he serves as Treasurer & Secretary. He has served as national chairman of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (AICPA) annual construction industry conference (2013-2014) and, for more than a decade, has been a Technical Reviewer for the AICPA’s Audit Risk Alert for Construction Contractors and the AICPA Accounting Guide-Construction Contractors. He also contributes a regular column to Construction Accounting & Taxation and has written on construction accounting and auditing topics for Construction Executive, CONNstruction and the Hartford Business Journal.
“The annual Associate of the Year award is based on several criteria, including overall belief in and support for the mission of CT ABC; participation in events, committees, and conferences; and industry involvement and advocacy,” the association wrote. CT ABC represents the construction industry in Connecticut. The award was presented at the Annual Dinner & Excellence in Construction Awards on January 28.
