South Florida Government Finance Officials Gear Up for 19th Annual Marcum Governmental Symposium

Miami, FL — Government finance officials from across South Florida are gearing up for the 19th Annual Marcum Governmental Symposium, to be held Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at the Signature Grand in Davie. Presented by the Governmental Services Practice Group of Marcum LLP, a top national accounting and advisory services firm, the symposium will include a full day of technical education and training to bring government finance professionals up to date on new accounting and reporting requirements.

Technical presentations will cover Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) pronouncements, which are governmental Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The CPE-accredited seminar will be conducted by Paul Glick, a specialist in governmental financial accounting and reporting.

In addition, two new sessions have been added this year: Planning for the New Pension Standards, to be presented by James T. Rizzo of Gabriel Roeder Smith & Company, and The New Clarified Auditing Standards and New Yellow Book, to be presented by Michael D. Futterman and Enrique Llerena, leaders in Marcum’s Governmental Services Practice.
