Excerpt:

Northport Physical Therapy chief Heather Williams successfully defended her title of Top Dog at last week’s Marcum Workplace Challenge, finishing the 3.5-mile race in 21 minutes 33 seconds and ahead of 34 other top executives in the class.

Williams finished more than three minutes ahead of the top male finisher, Chuck Merritt of Merritt Environmental. Other top finishers in the top executive class: Raymond Farrell of Carter, DeLuca, Farrell & Schmidt and James Wells of Lifetime Brands.

National Grid boss Ken Daly, a three-time Top Dog, was the fourth male and sixth overall finisher.

This year’s race included 8,401 participants, an increase of nearly 1,000 runners over last year, thanks to large amounts of LIBN advertising.
