Trending in Healthcare's Inaugural Release – What's in Store for 2016?

Welcome to Marcum LLP's first addition of “Trending in Healthcare”, a quarterly newsletter designed to provide clients, referral sources and colleagues an update on trends in the healthcare market place. Throughout the year Marcum's Newsletter is intended to be a valuable resource to the healthcare provider community with a specific focus, to include but not necessarily limited to; hospitals, long-term care providers (at all levels), assisted living/CCRC communities, home/hospice care agencies, federally qualified healthcare centers, large and small physician practices and adult day programs.

Our scheduled quarterly release begins with this first publication and will continue through the entire year.

At Marcum LLP we don't believe it is good enough just to provide our readers with regulatory updates from state and federal government sources. Instead, we believe it's our responsibility to advise clients of trending concepts in the healthcare sector. These concepts are intended to keep you, the reader, informed and educated in order to make informed business decisions.

Our newsletter format will include original content which impacts the healthcare industry as well as a rolling update of key legislative matters impacting various sector of the healthcare community. Please continue to keep your eyes open for our bimonthly Healthcare Alerts and updates announcing changes in regionally and federal reimbursement issues and trends.

Expansion to the Midwest

In November 2015, we were pleased to announce Frost, Ruttenberg and Rothblatt., P.C.’s (FROST) merger into Marcum LLP. Frost was ranked as one of the top twenty accounting practices in the greater Chicago area (Crain's Chicago Business). This transaction further expands our already robust healthcare practice to the country's Midwest region. Our Midwest healthcare practice, led by Steve Lavenda, provides Marcum LLP the ability to expand our reach by offering clinical consulting throughout the country. Stay tuned for the release of our clinical service offerings later this month.

First Annual Benchmark Publication

The level of data maintained through the filing of cost reports and trends continues to grow in the long-term care industry. Stay tuned for the first release of the Marcum LLP Benchmarking the Long-Term Care Industry, a study comparing and illustrating provider trends throughout the country.

Marcum LLP Long Term Care Symposium

2016 marks our 3rd Annual Marcum Long Term Care Symposium for our New England region.
