It is less than a week until Thanksgiving, and despite all of the tumult in our country and the world in general right now, there is still plenty to be thankful for. We in this country have it far better than most, and we are obligated to recognize it, respect it, and continue to work towards making things ever better for our families and our communities.
In that spirit, next Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, Marcum continues our tradition of giving back with our annual Marcum Day of Service. As in past years, all U.S. Marcum offices will be closed for business, as our associates across the country volunteer at a nonprofit organization in their local communities. If you find that we are slower than usual to respond to your emails or return your phone calls that day, we ask for your support and understanding, as the entire Marcum team comes together to focus on others less fortunate than ourselves.
Marcum is very lucky and proud to have succeeded in continuing to grow our firm this year. Our “army” of do-gooders continues to expand as we grow organically and new organizations integrate into ours, creating more positive change for the benefit of our clients and our communities. Each new organization brings to Marcum its own history of giving back, enriching the mission of community service that is the focus of the Marcum Foundation.
I will be joining our South Florida offices this year as the Weiners head south for the long holiday break from school and work. Last year my daughter Lily joined the Marcum team in Harlem at a Feeding America food pantry. This year, minus a couple of layers of clothes, she hopes again to be side-by-side with me in dispensing holiday meals to those less fortunate than us.
From my family to yours, we wish you all a bountiful and joyous Thanksgiving. We are deeply grateful for your trust and confidence in us, and on behalf of the Marcum associates across the country, I extend our warmest wishes to you and your families for a wonderful holiday weekend.
