About Gery

Gery Ivanova is a partner in the Assurance Services division in the Firm’s Washington, DC office. She came to Marcum via the Firm’s merger with Raffa, P.C., one of the nation’s preeminent public accounting and business consulting firms, specializing in nonprofits.

Gery serves nonprofit clients exclusively, overseeing audit and tax engagements and consulting on business, accounting, and tax issues. She has helped clients with the implementation of accounting systems (including the design of chart of accounts), consulted on federal grant compliance requirements, and provided guidance on unrelated business tax issues. She specializes in serving public charities, associations, and foundations. Her niches within the nonprofit industry include environmental, health, women and children, food and agriculture, and education. She has extensive experience with international nonprofits and NGOs.

Gery’s engaging personality makes her a natural when presenting to executive committees, boards of directors, and senior management. She also is a Firm mentor and trainer for the DC office, teaching classes such as auditing techniques, pension plan audits, technical accounting and tax issues, and performing audits in accordance with Uniform Grant Guidance.
