About James

Jim Aveni is a director in the Firm’s Valuation, Forensic and Litigation Services group. He represents developers, builders, buyers, sellers, and lenders in all aspects of commercial, industrial, and residential property acquisition, sale, construction, and development. His practice focuses on construction, land use, zoning, title, and real estate development. His litigation experience includes construction related disputes, eminent domain, real estate contract disputes, zoning disputes, and tax valuation challenges.

Jim received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Richmond College of Law, and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Wittenberg University. He served as general counsel of the Home Builders Association of Greater Cleveland from 2001-2009 and is a member of the American, Ohio, and Lake County Bar Associations.

Jim currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Kids of 216, a non-profit organization providing vocational training for inner city youth in the Cleveland area.
