For private equity and corporate clients, Marcum provides services ranging from deal screening and origination to comprehensive financial and operational due diligence. Our teams of professionals have extensive experience in business assurance, operations, tax, real estate and information technology to support the transactional decisions of our clients. We strive to provide value-added answers to the pre-acquisition due diligence process, which may include qualitative strategizing on cost and operational efficiencies, growth opportunities and re-positioning post-closing. Our work product is easily integrated into the work of other transaction participants, such as attorneys and investment advisors, to ensure an effective and cohesive decision-making tool for the client.
Our scope of work for each engagement is based on a client's particular needs. The engagement may be limited to a review of the target's accounting records which support their financial statements and address selective pivotal financial areas such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, short and long-term liabilities and the quality of historical and projected earnings to determine sufficiency, accuracy and reliability of this information. Alternately, a more involved engagement may include making observations on operational areas; determination of the current and potential liabilities upon acquisition to federal, state and local tax jurisdictions; analysis of real estate owned/leased properties; examination of worker's compensation and professional employer organization issues; and review of information technology and major systems applications including enterprise resources applications, customer relationship management and accounting software.
