Chief Financial Officer – Vital Voices Global Partnership

Download Job Description

Vital Voices Global Partnership (Vital Voices) is seeking a visionary executive for the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the organization’s growing operations. The CFO will also lead the next steps of operationalizing a new impact fund. A revolutionary non-profit, Vital Voices is founded on the simple idea that nations and communities cannot move forward without women’s voices in leadership positions. Founded in 1999, Vital Voices has been committed to investing in women’s leaders who are taking on the world’s greatest challenges, from gender-based violence to the climate crisis, economic inequities and more.

About Our Organization

Now celebrating 25 years, Vital Voices has directly invested in more than 20,000 women leaders across 184 countries and territories since its inception. Driven by the universal truth that women are the key to progress in their communities and nations cannot move forward without women in leadership positions, Vital Voices has provided early support for leaders who went on to become Nobel Peace Prize Laureates,

U.S. Youth Poet Laureates, prime ministers, award-winning innovators, pioneering human rights defenders, and breakthrough social entrepreneurs, including Amanda Gorman and Malala Yousafzai.

To advance and expand this work, in 2022, Vital Voices opened the doors to the world’s first global embassy for women, the Vital Voices Global Headquarters for Women’s Leadership. It is a first-of-its- kind space that allows for convening, innovation, planning, and action—all in the pursuit of serving women leaders who are taking on the world’s greatest challenges.

Vital Voices is a global operation with headquarters in Washington, DC. In the past few years, Vital Voices has scaled at a fast rate and anticipates continuing this trajectory into the future. The organization has launched a $100 million impact fund to support women in the network and build a sustainable operational model. Vital Voices engages a matrixed organization approach with 80 staff working across portfolios and projects with an annual budget of $30 million. Significant revenue streams include funding from U.S. Department of State, corporate donors, individual donors, and foundation funding.
