Marcum LLP, one of the nation’s largest independent public accounting and advisory services firms, named a new partner in charge of its Florida region.
The firm has hired away Michael Balter from one of its larger competitors, McGladrey LLP. Balter will oversee tax, assurance and advisory services for Marcum’s Florida clients.
Mr. Balter, a resident of Davie, played key roles in McGladrey’s South Florida operations and has more than 25 years of client service experience. He has, worked extensively in the construction, manufacturing, distribution and service industries.
“As one of the top accounting firms in South Florida, Marcum is already well recognized for its tax consulting, audit services, and litigation support practices,” Mr. Balter said in a press release.
He has an MBA from Florida Atlantic University and a BS in Accounting from the University of Florida, where he serves on the Accounting Advisory Board. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Association for Corporate Growth – South Florida. He is also a Board member and Past President of the Construction Financial Management Association and is a committee member of the FICPA Construction Conference.
