About Daniel

Dan Dowell is a partner in the firm’s Assurance Services division. With extensive experience in advising and auditing closely held businesses, Mr. Dowell leads the firm’s Tampa office, overseeing operations in the market and ensuring client and associate satisfaction.

He has worked with high growth companies over the years, including PE portfolio companies. He has a depth of experience with clients engaged in mergers and acquisitions and has conducted due diligence around potential deals on buy- and sell-side engagements.

Additionally, Mr. Dowell has experience working with special-purpose acquisition companies (SPACs) as well as publicly traded companies.

A long-time resident to the Tampa Bay market, Mr. Dowell has served on several boards in such capacities as chairperson and treasurer in the area. Currently, Mr. Dowell serves as the Advisory Council Chairman for the University of South Florida Muma College of Business School of Accounting.

He is an alumnus of Florida State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Mr. Dowell is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Mr. Dowell began his career in business consulting with a national accounting firm and has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions. He later founded a Tampa-based firm, Dowell & Perez, which was acquired by Skoda Minotti in 2013.

Throughout his career, Mr. Dowell has placed great value in training and mentoring. He continues to serve as a formal and informal mentor to several individuals. Mr. Dowell serves as leader within our firm as well as in the community.
