About Michael

Michael P. Guyder is a partner in the Firm’s Assurance Services division in Marcum’s Providence, Rhode Island office. Michael joined Marcum in 2019 via the merger of Guyder Hurley, P.C. into Marcum’s New England region. His significant experience includes accounting services and audits of public housing authorities, U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) multi-family projects, and low-income housing tax credit developments.

Michael leads a team of professionals who specialize in these areas of affordable housing, including associates with certifications in procurement standards for public housing authorities and the housing choice voucher and low rent public housing programs. As a result of his commitment to the industry and audit quality, engagements are completed efficiently, in conformity with HUD’s standards and expectations, and in a manner that delivers meaningful value to the Firm’s clients.

Michael is a frequent presenter at industry conferences, seminars, and trainings for organizations such as the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO), HUD, and others. His topics cover housing authority financial statements, audit issues and findings, internal controls, and fraud.
