About Angela

Angela Gebert has more than 25 years of state and local tax experience advising multinational and domestic companies on unclaimed property and the state and local tax implications of transactions, operational changes, tax minimization strategies, audits, and appeals.

Angela is the Firm’s national Unclaimed Property Practice Leader. In this role, Angela has serviced hundreds of companies across all industries with their unclaimed property needs. She has a unique approach to simplifying escheat compliance as well as making the audit and voluntary disclosure process more manageable for clients. Angela approaches unclaimed property from both a technical and practical viewpoint so that clients can make the best business decision for them.

Angela helps clients with all their unclaimed property needs, including annual compliance filings, audit defense and voluntary disclosure agreement (VDA) assistance. She also assists clients with unclaimed property risk assessments, general consulting and the development of policies and procedures. Angela tailors her approach to meet the client’s needs.

Angela has been a presenter at COST, TEI, CPA Societies, UPPO, NACM and other accounting and tax organizations. She has also presented many external webinars as well as written numerous unclaimed property articles. Prior to joining Marcum, Angela worked at national and Big 4 Firms in state and local tax and federal tax/audit divisions.
