About Lawrence

Lawrence Meril is an assurance partner in Marcum’s Saddle Brook, New Jersey office. He specializes in audit, accounting, and financial reporting outsourcing for both publicly held and privately held companies.

His broad industry background includes private equity, life sciences and biotech, publishing, chemical manufacturing, wholesale distribution, retail, professional services, restaurants, software development, internet technology, research and development, airlines, real estate, broadcast and cable television, and independent film production.

He has performed audits of Fortune 500 companies as well as accounting for PIPES and other intricate financing arrangements, such as convertible debt and preferred stock and related derivative components. He’s served as an expert witness in Federal District Court concerning generally accepted accounting principles.

Lawrence has been involved in IPOs for emerging companies, reverse mergers, and Form 10 going public transactions. As a research specialist, he’s proficient in complex accounting areas involving U.S. GAAP and GAAS standards, SEC, and PCAOB rules. He’s also overseen audit, tax, and due diligence engagements for private equity funds.

Lawrence joined Marcum via a merger with RotenbergMeril in 2022, where he was a founding shareholder and led the firm’s assurance practice. His previous experience includes Big Four, national, and local firms.
