About Mark

Mark Gauthier is a partner in the Advisory Services division of Marcum. He specializes in providing consulting and litigation advisory services, including dispute resolution, forensic investigations, and valuation services to businesses, professional services firms, and their clients.

Mark has more than 35 years of experience, including 20 years of specializing in these services. He has completed engagements in a number of industries, including information technology, data analytics, healthcare, banking and financial services, manufacturing, restaurants and hospitality, automotive, mining, franchising, agriculture, real estate, distribution, construction, environmental, and major league sports. He has provided assistance in matters involving negligence, breach of contract, fraud and recovery, business interruption, lender liability, eminent domain, intellectual property, antitrust, employment, securities, marital dissolution and product liability.

He provides clients with a variety of deliverables, including oral and written commentary; operational analyses and implementation plans; forensic and fraud investigation findings; valuation reports involving publicly and privately held businesses for marketing, buy/sell transactions, divorce, and business damages purposes.

Additionally, Mark offers feasibility studies; forecasts and projections; damages assessments; and written and oral expert testimony in courts of law including federal, state, local and bankruptcy courts, including for sealed hearings and alternative dispute resolution venues.

In restructuring and Chapter 7 and 11 bankruptcy court matters, Mark has evaluated and provided expert testimony concerning reorganization plans, fraudulent transfers, and preference actions for financing and court confirmation. He has served as an interim operations executive and as an accountant and consultant for trustees and creditors.

Prior to joining Marcum, Mark owned and operated his own boutique advisory consultancy; founded and managed consulting practices in Big Four accounting firms; served as a leader and advisor to companies on operational and growth strategy and implementation; and secured numerous private equity, debt and strategic partner funding for clients. Additionally, he owned and operated web development and e-commerce, manufacturing, wholesale distribution and retail franchise businesses and served as a credit and loan policy officer for a major commercial bank.
