About Matt
Matthew Huffner is a partner in the Assurance Services Division in the Firm’s Washington, DC office. He came to Marcum via the Firm’s merger with Raffa, P.C., one of the nation’s preeminent public accounting and business consulting firms in the nation, specializing in nonprofits.
Mr. Huffner has approximately 20 years of public accounting experience. He focuses on serving nonprofit clients, including primarily 501(c)3, 501(c)4, and 501(c)6 entities. Mr. Huffner is an expert in providing assistance with stakeholder relationships, board and fiduciary activities, transactional advice, and tax consulting. He is a frequent presenter to the nonprofit community and provides training for internal staff, including new hire, types of tax exempt organizations, and FASB updates.
He started his professional career with Raffa, P.C. just after graduating from college, and has been promoted numerous times over the years.
Mr. Huffner is involved in the philanthropic community and is especially passionate about his work with associations, education, arts, healthcare, and accreditation organizations. He is a graduate of Georgetown University, where he earned his BBA with a concentration in Accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants and is certified in Washington, DC, Virginia, and New Hampshire.
