About Matthew

Matthew Citrolo is a Marcum partner specializing in tax compliance and consulting for clients in the real estate; advertising; technology; and retail, manufacturing, and distribution industries. Matthew counsels clients with physical or intangible assets across multiple jurisdictions. He advises on tax planning opportunities, the drafting of operating agreements, and purchases and sales of assets. Matthew also manages correspondence on behalf of clients when they are subject to notices or audits issued by tax authorities.

Acting as an internal resource to his colleagues, Matthew leads learning and development trainings and is recognized as a thought leader with experience representing the Firm before technical and nontechnical audiences at industry conferences and seminars. He currently sits as the chair of the Real Estate Committee of the New York State Society of CPAs (Manhattan/Bronx Chapter). Prior to joining Marcum, Matthew worked at several regionally and nationally prominent accounting firms, including a member of the “Big Four.”
