About Tri

Tri Hoang is a director in Marcum’s Tax & Business Services division. He focuses on state & local tax (SALT) matters, including income and franchise taxes, gross receipts taxes, sales & use taxes, excise taxes, and property taxes. He has spent the last decade focused on state and local tax due diligence and advising clients on state tax issues in M&A transactions. He also has significant experience in tax controversy, managing large tax compliance engagements and helping clients secure significant credits and incentives.

Tri has experience in providing a wide range of state and local tax consulting services, including alternative apportionment requests; apportionment studies; nexus studies; reverse income tax audit studies; sales tax taxability studies; securing both statutory and negotiated tax credits and incentives; state tax attribute analyses; tax controversy; tracking and modeling state implications of proposed law changes; and unitary and combined filing analyses.
