Marcum’s Cecelia Garber Honored as a Top Influential Business Woman

Marcum’s Cecelia Garber Honored as a Top Influential Business Woman Advisory

New York City, NY  –Cecelia Garber, Partner-in-Charge of the Florida region for Marcum LLP, has been named one of 25 Influential Business Women by South Florida Business Journal. Marcum is a top national accounting and advisory firm with Florida offices in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm Beach.

Ms. Garber is a forensic accounting specialist and a partner in Marcum’s Advisory Services Division. Under her leadership, in June Marcum was named South Florida’s No. 1-ranked Litigation Support accounting firm for the fourth consecutive year.

Ms. Garber represents both business and individual clients in connection with income tax planning and compliance, preparation of financial statements, general accounting and auditing, management consulting services and Internal Revenue Service representation. Certified in business valuation and forensic financial analysis, Ms. Garber frequently serves as an expert witness in court systems throughout South Florida.

She is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American and Florida Institutes of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, and is an associate member of the Family Law Sections of the Florida Bar and the American Bar Association, among others. She has served on the Business Valuation and Litigation Committee of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, as well as on the American Institute of Certified Public Accountant Litigation Committee.

In January, she was named a Top 100 Power Leader by SFBJ and is a 2012 Key Partners Award recipient, in recognition of her accomplishments as one of South Florida’s leading CPAs.

“I believe an influential business woman is someone who can motivate co-workers and peers, resulting in making a positive difference in their professional lives. To become influential in others’ lives you must gain respect by treating everyone else with respect. You must set high goals for yourself, and then you can encourage others around you to do the same. Finally, you must set a good example – if you want others to work hard and push their limitations, you must do the same,” Ms. Garber said.

A Ft. Lauderdale resident, Ms. Garber joined Marcum LLP in June 2009 as the result of a merger with Berger Epstein & Garber P.A., a regional accounting firm where she was a partner.

She will receive her Influential Business Woman award at a luncheon on September 13.
