Marcum LLP Names New Partners
New York City, NY – Marcum LLP, a top national accounting and advisory services firm, has named five new partners: Paul J. Graney, Tax & Business Services (Needham, MA); Colleen McHugh, Alternative Investment Group (New York City); Barbara Sena, Assurance Services (Melville, NY); Ayoub Sunna, Assurance Services (San Francisco); and Gregory Wozniak, Accounting Services (Melville). The appointments are effective immediately.
Paul Graney is a member of Marcum’s National Construction Industry group and State and Local Tax Practice group. He has more than 30 years of multistate tax experience and specializes in state tax controversy and multistate corporate income, sales/use, meals tax and personal income tax examinations and appeals. He is an enrolled agent. Mr. Graney joined the Firm in 2006. Previously, he was tax director at a large, local multifaceted construction company and has also served as state and local tax practice leader at a large international firm. Earlier in his career, he was the Chief of Audit at the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, where he was responsible for the field audit activities of over 650 auditors and administrative personnel. He holds a BS degree in finance from Babson College.
Colleen McHugh, CPA, has over 17 years of experience in partnership and private equity taxation, including special tax allocations and foreign filings. Prior to joining Marcum in 2013, Ms. McHugh spent seven years with a “Big 4” public accounting firm, five in the Private Equity group and two in the Washington National Tax Partnership group. She holds a Master of Science degree in taxation and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Pace University.
Barbara Sena, CPA, is a member of the Firm’s national Quality Control department. She plays a key role in Marcum’s Peer review and annual internal inspection and is responsible for allocating quality control resources firm-wide. Ms. Sena is the Firm’s subject matter expert on U.S. Auditing Standards (GAAS), including risk assessments, SSAR’s, and Marcum’s Audit Approach. Her technical expertise includes private company small business audits, reviews, compilations, agreed-upon procedures, and private company variable interest (VIE) accounting. She joined Marcum in 1995 after spending 10 years with two regional accounting firms. She earned a BS degree in accounting from CW Post University in 1984.
Ayoub Sunna, CPA, has worked with private and publicly held companies in a variety of industries, including life sciences and medical technology, pharmaceuticals, consumer and industrial products, entertainment, telecommunications and technology, and healthcare. His 12 years of public accounting experience includes initial public offerings, Sarbanes-Oxley 404 implementation, special internal control audits, audits of private equity and hedge funds, and complex financing transactions. He joined Marcum in 2010 through a regional merger. He holds a Master of Professional Accountancy degree and a BS in accounting from Brigham Young University.
Gregory Wozniak, CPA, specializes in business, tax and consulting services for closely-held companies in various industries, including manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, retail, management companies, professional services and real estate. He joined Marcum in 1990. Mr. Wozniak has over 25 years of experience in financial statement preparation and tax and strategic business planning. He holds a BS in accounting from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.
All of the new Marcum partners were previously directors in their respective divisions.
