4 Marcum Partners Recognized as Business Leaders
FEBRUARY 18, 2022 (New York City, NY) – Four Marcum LLP partners have been recognized for distinguished leadership by business media in their regions.
Michael Balter, CPA, MBA, was named a Power Leader by South Florida Business Journal. Mr. Balter is regional managing partner of Marcum’s Southeast region and serves clients in the construction, manufacturing, distribution, and service industries. A member of Marcum’s Executive Committee, he oversees 300 associates and is responsible for operations, strategic growth and client services in his region.
Louis J. Biscotti, CPA, MBA, CITP, and Carolyn Mazzenga, CPA, were both named to the Long Island Business News Power List.
Mr. Biscotti is national leader of Marcum’s Food & Beverage Services Group. His focus is on improving his clients’ growth and profitability, having guided the development of numerous companies from small, emerging entities into multi-million-dollar organizations. He is particularly noted for his work in manufacturing and distribution, and founded a series of best practice forums for food and beverage senior executives.
Ms. Mazzenga is office managing partner in Melville, NY, and national leader of Marcum’s Family Wealth Services Group. Named one of the Most Powerful Women in Accounting, Ms. Mazzenga assists clients in wealth preservation and succession planning to meet their lifetime objectives and achieve their philanthropic goals. In addition, she assists hedge fund managers with personal and business income tax solutions.
Jill Scher, CPA, MS, was named a Cannabis Industry Power Player by AM New York Metro. A tax partner in Marcum’s Melville office, Ms. Scher advises on tax minimization and deferral strategies and the tax ramifications of planned transactions.
