Marcum Retail Symposium to Debut in Los Angeles
New York City, NY – Marcum LLP, a top accounting and advisory firm with a nationally recognized Retail & Consumer Products Practice, today announced that the Marcum Retail Symposium will debut in Los Angeles on March 16, at the JW Marriott Hotel. The industry event is being presented in collaboration with the California Fashion Association.
The program is designed to provide retailers and manufacturers with a range of industry perspectives on the changing technological landscape and the new generation of retail consumers. Panelists will include Debra Gunn Downing, Executive Director, Marketing, of South Coast Plaza; Louis Mastrianni, Managing Director, JP Morgan Chase; and Andrew Rotondi, operations/information officer of Dynamic Worldwide. The keynote speaker will be Robin Lewis, author of The Robin Report, former executive editor of Women’s Wear Daily, global retail consultant, and co-author of The New Rules of Retail.

Brick-and-mortar retailers are going to have to either step it up by finding new ways to fight for market share, or else shift priority to their own websites if they intend to compete online. No one doubts that mobile devices will continue to be the shopping venue of choice for Generation Y unless retailers give them a compelling reason to spend their dollars offline.
