Marcum Tax Partner Ronald Finkelstein Elected President of New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants Nassau County Chapter

MELVILLE, NY – Marcum LLP, one of the largest independent public accounting and advisory services firms in the nation and the largest firm on Long Island, announced that Ronald M. Finkelstein, JD, CPA, , has been elected president of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) Nassau County Chapter. Finkelstein, a tax partner in the Firm’s Long Island office, practices trust and estate planning and co-manages the Firm’s Trust & Estates group.

Finkelstein joined the NYSSCPA in 2001. During his tenure with the Nassau Chapter, he has served as co-chair of the Taxation Committee and has been a member of its Executive Board.

Since joining Marcum in 2001, Finkelstein has served as a trusted advisor to fiduciaries and estate and trust beneficiaries. He handles all aspects of estate and trust administration and is a recognized authority on trust and estate issues. Prior to joining the firm, Finkelstein spent 14 years as an attorney counseling individuals, business owners and fiduciaries with trust and estate matters.

Finkelstein is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA )and the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA). In 2007, Finkelstein was appointed vice chair of the NYSBA’s Estate and Trust Administration Committee. In 2010, the Long Island Business News named Finkelstein to its “Fifty Around 50” Class for his leadership in business, mentoring and support for Long Island’s not-for-profit organizations and commitment to the community.

Finkelstein received his Juris Doctor from the New York Law School and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from New York University.
