South Florida Finance Officials Gear Up For 18th Annual Marcum Governmental Symposium
Miami, FL – Government finance officials from across South Florida are gearing up for the 18th Annual Marcum Governmental Symposium to be held on November 1. Presented by the Governmental Services Practice group of Marcum, a national accounting and advisory firm, the symposium will include a full day of technical education and training to bring government finance professionals up to date on new accounting and reporting requirements. This year’s event will take place at the Signature Grand in Davie.
“There are numerous new accounting pronouncements phasing in through 2015 that impact government finance management. The Marcum Governmental Symposium will fully brief participants on the new requirements and enable them to be prepared as they take effect,” said Michael Futterman, Practice Leader for Marcum’s Florida Governmental Services Practice.
Technical presentations will cover Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) pronouncements, which are governmental Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The CPE-accredited seminar will be conducted by Paul Glick, a specialist in governmental financial accounting and reporting. A legal panel discussion of selected topics affecting governments will also be presented by three local attorneys.
