About Luca

Luca Bonfanti is a partner in the Firm’s Technical Review and Quality Control Group and a member of the Assurance Quality Control Department, based in the Los Angeles office. He is responsible for implementing, and maintaining the Firm’s assurance policies and procedures, and compliance with governing bodies. In addition, he provides guidance to Firm professionals on technical accounting and auditing matters.

With over 20 years of client experience in accounting, auditing, and regulatory oversight, Luca has an in-depth knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, SEC reporting, and PCAOB auditing standards and related professional practice standards. He has extensive experience in various industries including manufacturing, retail and distribution, software, mining, and life sciences. Mr. Bonfanti has a comprehensive knowledge of revenue recognition, long-lived assets impairment, goodwill valuation, business combinations, and inventory. He also has experience with foreign private issuers and IFRS.

Prior to joining Marcum, Luca worked at the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) where he participated in both domestic and international inspection programs associated with the “Big Four” accounting firms. His previous experience includes working in the SEC Reporting Group of a public company in the Los Angeles area.

Luca is a graduate of the Catholic University of Milan, Italy, where he received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business and Economics. He is also fluent in Italian, French, and Spanish.
