About Marc

Marc J. Giampaola is a partner in the Firm’s Hartford, Connecticut office and is the New England co-leader for the Financial Institutions Services Group. He has more than 20 years of experience managing, conducting, reviewing, and analyzing financial information. Marc’s primary industry focus is financial institutions, along with insurance, manufacturing, and life sciences companies.

He is highly qualified in evaluating business processes and internal controls via audits for Sarbanes-Oxley and FDICIA reporting. He has been involved in numerous external and internal audit related engagements, consulting services, and forensic investigations related to financial fraud. He also has extensive experience with Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) reporting requirements for publicly traded companies, including quarterly and annual filings, and registration statements, including Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (“SPAC’s”). Marc serves as a member of Marcum’s New England Assurance Practice Training Committee, where he is actively involved in the education of partners and associates on new accounting pronouncements and other technical matters. Marc also assists in conducting CPA firm peer reviews and other assurance audit quality activities.

Prior to joining Marcum in 2018, he spent over 16 years working with a Big Four firm within the Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York practices where he was a managing director focused on serving banking, insurance, and other financial services entities with assets of up to approximately $60 billion.
