About Michael

Michael Shoff is a director in the Firm’s Financial Accounting and Advisory (FAAS) services practice. He has nearly 15 years of experience in both public accounting and private industry. Michael’s experience includes providing external audit and business advisory services to public and private companies of all sizes across a variety of industries.

Prior to joining Marcum, Michael was a Senior Manager at a specialized financial consulting firm where he supported clients with complex technical accounting matters, as well as served both public and private companies in interim management roles. Michael’s experience includes providing accounting and advisory services to clients in the financial service industry and leading global engagements with focus on financial reporting, investor relations, regulatory matters and internal controls for financial service enterprises. Michael’s skillset includes GAAP, statutory and IFRS accounting frameworks, technical accounting, adoption of new accounting standards, M&A transactions, investor relations, crisis management, finance transformation, process improvements, and internal controls including SOX 404 compliance.

Michael formerly served as Senior Consultant at Deloitte, where he assisted clients with a wide variety of corporate forensic, SEC regulatory issues, consulting and investigative services, including anti-bribery and corruption, M&A, fraud, anti-money laundering, data analytics, project management and litigation support.
