The mission of the Marcum Foundation is to support non-profit organizations providing critical assistance to those in need, through programs and services delivered at the local level in Marcum communities.
This is an expression of Marcum’s commitment to support the communities in which we do business. By linking the philanthropic activities of Marcum’s local offices under a unified umbrella, we are able to pool resources, share successes, exchange ideas, and grow our impact.
Local charity beneficiaries are nominated by Firm associates in each region. Funds are raised through special events, collection drives, volunteer initiatives, and a planned giving program.
- Annual Marcum Day of Service – A paid day off, when all Marcum offices close for business, to enable the entire Marcum team to spend the day volunteering with local nonprofit organizations.
- Philanthropy Fridays – The last Friday of each month, when associates are invited to make a voluntary contribution of $5 to a local charity nominated by an associate in each Marcum office.
- Planned Giving – Voluntary paycheck withholdings by Marcum associates and partners as contributions to one or more designated charities in their region.
The Internal Revenue Service has determined the Marcum Foundation is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) and is a public charity as defined in section 509(a)(1).
