About Edward

Edward J. Reitmeyer is partner-in-charge of the Tax & Business Services group for the Firm’s Mid-Atlantic region. Ed also serves as chair of the Mid-Atlantic Real Estate Services Group. He has 40 years of public and private accounting experience in the real estate sector, providing integrated tax, transaction and advisory services to owners, builders, lenders and users of real estate.

Ed specializes in tax restructuring and compliance, asset management, and capital restructuring. He is also skilled in developing real estate strategies, evaluating acquisitions and modeling, divestiture and development activities and debt financing options.

Ed has developed the Firm’s Historic Tax Credit (“HTC”) practice which assists clients in their HTC projects nationwide.

Prior to joining Marcum, he worked for a national and a regional CPA firm in Philadelphia. Ed also served as the President of Wynnewood Financial Partners, LLC, a consulting firm to real estate developers and investors of real estate and Chief Financial Officer of Wynnewood Development, Inc., a Bala Cynwyd based real estate development firm.

Ed has been quoted in several national publications, including the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, CNBC, Bloomberg and Inc. magazine as a key resource on the Tax Cut and Jobs Act and the Cares Act.

Ed has presented many lectures and seminars for accountants on a variety of tax subjects, including partnership taxation, tax compliance for individuals and businesses, estate planning and medical office development. He partnered with leading mortgage industry lender, Berkadia, to develop a national webinar discussing tax policy and planning. Ed is the lead coordinator of Marcum’s annual Mid-Atlantic Real Estate Summit.
