Marcum LLP’s Gregory Giugliano Tapped for AICPA SEC Regulations Committee

New York City, NYGregory Giugliano, Firmwide Partner-In-Charge of Assurance Services at Marcum LLP, has been appointed to the SEC Regulations Committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Mr. Giugliano will serve a one-year term on the volunteer committee. Marcum is a top national accounting and advisory firm.

“This is an opportunity to contribute in a meaningful way to helping improve and clarify the reporting environment for publicly traded companies, as well as the practical side of the reporting function,” Mr. Giugliano said.

The AICPA SEC Regulations Committee acts as the primary liaison between the accounting profession and the Securities & Exchange Commission on technical matters pertaining to rules and regulations. The committee meets with SEC staff quarterly to provide input on SEC accounting and auditing issues.

At Marcum, Mr. Giugliano oversees the quality of the Firm’s national accounting and auditing practice; monitors SEC, PCAOB and FASB developments; and is responsible for policies and procedures. His considerable expertise encompasses SEC regulations, accounting, auditing, business forecasting, international operations, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, management consulting, and quality control.

Under the auspices of the SEC and Private Companies Practice Sections of the AICPA, Mr. Giugliano has served as a Peer Reviewer for other accounting firms. He also frequently lectures before professional groups, including the New York State and Pennsylvania Bar Associations and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, as well as numerous Marcum LLP sponsored programs.
