About Matthew

Matthew Bavolack is a principal in the Firm’s Advisory Division of the Long Wharf Drive office in New Haven, Connecticut and serves as Marcum’s National Healthcare Services leader. He has in excess of 30 years of healthcare financial/reimbursement consulting expertise. Matthew focuses on financial reimbursement, operations, strategic planning and compliance matters for various healthcare providers including but not limited to all aspects of senior living home healthcare, residential care, hospice, hospital, and physician practice industries.

Matthew works closely with owners, operators, and boards of directors to ensure that all third-party filing requirements are met and in accordance with existing rules and regulations for both federal and state governments. In addition, he assists clients with budgetary, reimbursement, operations, strategic planning, and other consulting issues. These include client representation through regulatory audit and appeal processes, rate negotiations and renegotiations, compliance reviews, management reporting, valuation analysis, expert witness representation, reimbursement analytics, and mergers and acquisitions.

Over his career, Matthew has performed consulting services throughout the continuum of care and across the county with state reimbursement expertise in over 50% of the country.

As recognized industry leader, Matthew has presented numerous seminars and authored articles on a variety of healthcare-related topics throughout the country.
