About Myunghee

Myunghee Geerts is a director for Marcum’s Tax & Business Services practice in the Firm’s Philadelphia office. She brings over 15 years of experience in tax credits and incentives and tax planning, working across many industries. Myunghee has been instrumental in offering her clients numerous tax planning ideas and solutions, encompassing R&D tax credits, other tax incentives, alterations in accounting methods, revenue recognition, and Opportunity Zone Incentives.

Myunghee frequently presents on R&D tax credits and other tax planning ideas at workshops and conferences. Also, she performed technical reviews of the proposed federal R&D credit tax legislation and provided recommendations to Senator Coons Office. Moreover, she served as Chair of the Delaware Society of CPAs’ Board and was a council member of the AICPA. Her board memberships also extended to the DelawareBio Association, the Delaware Symphony Orchestra, the Inspiring Women in STEM, and the Delaware Korean Association.

In 2020, she received recognition as one of the 2020 Women in Business by DelawareToday Magazine.

Before her present position, she was a director at a Delaware-based accounting firm, spearheading the consulting service line. She was also a senior manager specializing in tax credits and incentives at a Big Four accounting firm.
