About William

William Mendez is vice president of Cybersecurity Testing and Operations at Marcum Technology. He has over 15 years of experience strategizing and executing innovative cybersecurity solutions for a range of clients spanning multiple industries.

William combines a personalized approach with his tactical experience as a former Information System Security Specialist at the Department of Defense to provide results driven client services. As an innovator, he has developed proprietary government tools to aid warfighters in the tactical environment. This includes helping to devise the Army’s Universal Purge Tool used to sanitize classified hard drives and media.

Will provides clients with comprehensive cybersecurity diagnostics that identify vulnerabilities, risks, and security gaps. He develops custom-tailored solutions that improve the security and resiliency of clients’ systems and networks.

His team delivers a broad spectrum of services for entities ranging from mid-sized businesses to large corporations in the finance, real estate, nonprofit, education, and energy sectors. His specialties include network security architectural reviews and vulnerability assessments, with experience leading a task force of technical cybersecurity professionals.

As a thought leader in the cybersecurity space, he co-authored a whitepaper on security threats to school grades kindergarten through 12. He has also led internal client awareness trainings and presented during educational retreats.
